Placement Success Stories
Mary Dyer6 May, 2007 Dear Kip, My name is Mary Dyer. I came into your office one Friday morning in 1993 crying because I had just lost my job as a retail store manager. I was really worried about what I would do next since my background was in education and the only skill I knew I had for office work was typing, answering phones and a good demeanor with people. I sat there in your office applying for a temp position with you at Hollister, crying, and you gave me assurance and told me I'd be ok, and you matched me up with a temp job at Safety 1st in Chestnut Hill. You took my educational experience and office skills and told me I could start Monday morning as a receptionist there temp to perm. You saved my weekend! You saved my life! Since that day in 1993, I have worked my way up from that permanent receptionist job, to several other administrative assistant positions in the Boston area, and I have been with Fidelity Investments for 9 years now. I am now an Administrative Team Leader, earning not only the salary I deserve but the respect I thought I'd lost that fateful day when I lost my job and I walked into your office crying. Thank you for giving me my head start towards a rewarding career. One that pays better than my teaching days, and better than my days staring out as a receptionist. You gave me the confidence and hope that I would be ok, and I was, and I am doing better than ever. Gratefully, Mary Dyer, Brockton MA |
