Hollister Breaks a Sweat with Food Bank and Youkilis
April 9 , 2008

Dedicated to bettering the community it serves through ongoing philanthropic endeavors, Hollister Inc. has started the year strong by engaging its team in two successful initiatives. In March, a group of 25 spent the day sorting donated items at the Greater Boston Food Bank—which distributes 300 million pounds of food and grocery items to more than 600 New England relief agencies. Then, to celebrate yesterday’s Red Sox home opener, they collected donations at their Burlington and Boston offices on behalf of Kevin Youkilis’ Hits for Kids.

After contributing over 1,000 toys to Hits for Kids in December, Hollister is continuing their relationship with the organization founded by the Red Sox’ first baseman. Future support is already in the works.

For their first trip to the Greater Boston Food Bank, Hollister employees rolled their sleeves up and spent an afternoon sorting thousands of donated items at the largest donation and distribution center for grocery items in New England. The GBFB’s President and CEO, Catherine D'Amato, was recently honored at the Pinnacle Awards for Achievement in Management, Non-Profit.

Hollister is actively involved in philanthropy and is partnered with several non-profit organizations in the area. Their award-winning efforts in workforce development have earned them a place in the Boston Business Hall of Fame. A five member Philanthropy heads-up all endeavors and coordinates the company’s quarterly initiatives.
